Shipping cheesecakes isn't like sending most gifts.
It requires care, precision, and a process that protects both the product and the experience of receiving it.
Here's how it works, and why every detail matters.
Overnight Shipping, by Design
Our cheesecakes are shipped frozen to preserve their texture, structure, and flavor.
To ensure they arrive in perfect condition, all deliveries outside of our local delivery zones are shipped with UPS Next Day Air. This minimizes transit time and keeps each cake within a carefully controlled temperature range from the moment it leaves our warehouse to the moment it arrives at your door.
Packaging and Insulation
Each cheesecake is packed in an insulated box designed specifically for shipping perishable items. Inside, an ice pack is placed to maintain a cold, stable temperature, and the cake is secured to minimize movement during transit.
What to Expect Upon Arrival
When your package is delivered, the cheesecake will be cold or partially frozen. This is exactly how it should be.
From there, you can place it in the freezer for later or directly into the refrigerator to allow it to thaw prior to serving. Our cheesecakes can be frozen for up to six months without compromising flavor or texture, which allows for flexibility when planning ahead.
Delivery Timing and Tracking
Once a label is created for your order, you should receive a UPS tracking number.
Please note that tracking updates begin once UPS scans the package into their system. During busier seasons, labels may be created in advance, so you may not see movement on the tracking link immediately.
Lilac & Crème ships with UPS Next Day Air, and packages are typically delivered by the afternoon, though exact delivery times cannot be guaranteed.
A Note on Shipping Costs
Shipping perishable items requires overnight shipping and proper insulation, with more attention to detail than standard shipping.
Shipping rates are determined by carrier pricing, distance, and the specialized materials used to maintain quality during transit. Rates shown at checkout reflect the actual cost of delivering your order safely.
Seasonal Delivery Adjustments
During peak seasons, select areas within our typical shipping zones may be serviced through direct delivery rather than our standard overnight shipping.
In these cases, we may offer delivery using temperature controlled vehicles, like freezer trucks. Orders are transported frozen and delivered directly to your door, eliminating the need for insulated packaging and ice packs.
This is arranged at our discretion based on location and delivery logistics. Delivery rates for this service remain the same, as the cost of maintaining this level of service is comparable to overnight shipping.
