How to Store, Thaw, & Serve Your Lilac & Crème Cheesecake

Upon Arrival

Lilac & Crème cheesecakes are shipped frozen to preserve their flavor, texture, and appearance in transit.

Open the package promptly upon arrival. Remove the cake box from the insulated shipping materials and discard the ice pack and shipping box with foam casing.

If you are not serving the cheesecake immediately, transfer it directly to the freezer. Keep the cake properly covered.

Storing Your Cheesecake

Lilac & Crème cheesecakes can be frozen for up to six months without compromising their flavor or texture.

Freezing makes it easy to order ahead for a holiday, celebration, or event.

For best results, keep the cheesecake fully covered and frozen until you are ready to begin thawing.

Thawing Your Cheesecake

Remove the plastic wrap and collar while the cheesecake is still frozen. The cake is firmer and easier to handle when frozen, reducing the risk of damaging the sides, topping, or decorative finish.

For best results, thaw the cheesecake gradually in the refrigerator. Transfer the frozen cheesecake to the refrigerator approximately 12 to 24 hours before serving.

Ready to Serve

Lilac & Crème cheesecakes are best enjoyed after they have had time to soften slightly.

Once fully thawed, remove the cheesecake from the refrigerator shortly before serving. This allows the texture to become softer and creamier while preserving the cake’s structure.

The Perfect Slice

For clean, even slices, use a long, sharp knife.

Run the blade under hot water, dry it completely, and press it straight down through the cheesecake. Wipe the blade clean and repeat the process before each cut.

Avoid dragging a coated knife through the next slice, as this can disturb the surface and soften the edges.

For the cleanest presentation:

  1. Begin with a fully thawed but chilled cheesecake.
  2. Use a warm, dry knife.
  3. Clean the blade between every slice.
  4. Return the remaining cake to the refrigerator after serving.
a plastic knife is not sharp or sturdy enough to cut cleanly through the cheesecake and crust.

After Serving

Cover any remaining cheesecake and return it to the refrigerator promptly.

If you do not plan on eating the remaining cheesecake soon, it can be returned to the freezer. We do not recommend storing your cheesecake in the refrigerator for longer than one week.

Refreezing

To preserve the flavor and texture of your cheesecake we recommend storing your cheesecake in an airtight container when refreezing.
